We’re excited to welcome Gabby, our account team intern, to…
Meet Tyler
Since we’re a relatively new team, you may know some of us but not others. Over the next few months, we’ll introduce you to each member of the Propel team. Today we’re introducing Marketing Automation Director Tyler Townsend.
Propel: Tyler, you’ve officially joined our team. Now it’s time for your introduction. Ready?
TT: Ready when you are.
P: Great. How about you start by letting us know about any hobbies you might have.
TT: Well my “hobby” turned in to more than a hobby this year. My wife and I launched StoryWood Music, where we build electric guitars made entirely from reclaimed wood that has a back-story. There’s something pretty amazing about giving old wood a second life that’s more than a shelf.
P: Wow, we’re pretty sure that automatically makes you the most talented and interesting person in the office. Off to a great start! If you could meet anyone—alive or dead—who would it be and why?
TT: I’d prefer to be alive, thanks. Oh, the person? David Byrne – if I had 10% of his creativity…
P: Great choice, David Byrne is an icon. Do you have a favorite snack? We’re really big into snacks here. And food in general.
TT: I’m guilty of a sweet tooth, so I try to snack on the savory side of things. Cashews have been my go-to lately.
P: Lucky for you we keep a steady supply of trail mix (cashews included). Have you read any good books lately?
TT: I recently read “Set the Boy Free,” the autobiography of Johnny Marr, guitarist from The Smiths. I loved it for two reasons: he didn’t have a ghost writer, and as you read it, you hear his voice distinctly in your head. It’s also a great example of someone knowing what they were put on earth to do at a very young age and pursuing it with great passion to great success.
P: Sounds like we need to add it to our list! If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be?
TT: I’d have to go somewhere I haven’t been – Iceland looks pretty amazing.
P: What are you most looking forward to about working here at Propel as our new Marketing Automation Director?
TT: I’m excited about leading the marketing automation efforts, as well as joining a team of folks who enjoy what they do and each other.
P: You’ll fit right in. Now for our last question. We think of ourselves as a super power for our clients. If you could have any super power, what would it be?
TT: I’d love the power to completely remodel a room by snapping my fingers. Don’t even ask me about the state of my downstairs bathroom right now.
