Server virtualization—the ability to run multiple independent workloads on the same physical server—has brought sweeping changes to IT. This is especially true for data protection and disaster recovery, where virtualization makes it possible to back up an entire virtual machine in one image-level backup and restore that virtual machine on any host in one easy step.
