History of Geek Day

Founders & Date

Founded by Server Centric Consulting, Geek Day was invented to give technical gurus a place to learn about all of the technology playing a part in the virtualization of the data center.  Through their product-agnostic experiences the Server Centric team, now the WWT Virtualization Practice, found that end-users were often frustrated by the OEM-slant/sales pitch that skewed planning and purchasing decisions.

Growth in Participation

The first Geek Day was held in 2004 at the Missouri Athletic Club in Downtown St. Louis.  There were 82 attendees and 15 sponsors.  Now Geek Day is one of the premier events focused on Virtualization technology.

WWT & SCC Joining Forces

We are pleased to announce that the spirit of Server Centric Consulting is alive and well as a part of World Wide Technology (WWT).  Our customers now enjoy a single trusted advisor for all their data center needs – from servers, desktops, storage, security and networking, to the virtualization solutions that tie them all together.  We will continue to maintain our industry leading focus on products and solutions unique to virtualization and as part of WWT bring expanded offerings in hardware, software, supply chain and procurement to our customers.
